Ground Gas Mitigation Measures
Coopers specialise in designing ground gas mitigation measures in accordance with CIRIA 665 guidance. We have experience in designing substructure works to residential, commercial and industrial developments incorporating mitigation measures for eliminating risk from ground gas.
Our engineers are trained to conduct pre-start meetings, providing assistance and advice to site personnel on methods to successfully install gas precaution measures in accordance with approved designs. Where risk of ground gas is a planning condition or NHBC red flag issue, we inspect installations and document them in Certificates submitted to the Planning Department for discharging of conditions and to the NHBC for CML & Warranty clearance.
We have excellent working relationships with the NHBC and many Local Authorities in England and Wales, which is key to our ability to achieve the discharging of ground gas related planning conditions and CML clearnce on a plot by plot basis. This allows our clients projects to continue to be developed swiftly with confidence and on schedule.
Coopers have assisted Liverpool City Council with their "Ground Gas Validation Forms", as well as the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health document “The Local Authority Guide to Ground Gas”. Acknowledgements to Coopers have been made within both of these documents.
