Party Wall Surveys

Coopers engineers provide a service to assess party wall issues before, during and after development.  Issues may arise, for example, due to a new development, building or extension affecting existing properties either by undermining or by damage caused by vibration or impact during construction.

We can offer an advisory service to enable our clients to meet their obligations under the Party Wall Act and we can carry out condition surveys as part of the implementation of a Party Wall Agreement. This will normally involve structural assessments of existing buildings adjacent to and within the near vicinity of the site to determine any existing structural defects.

The existing buildings may continue to be monitored periodically during construction to confirm that the development is not detrimentally affecting them.

If the development is affecting the adjoining properties, solutions can usually be provided to mitigate these issues.
