Human Health Risk Assessments
Coopers undertake Human Health Risk Assessments during ground investigation contracts to determine the anticipated mitigation requirements due to the contamination (natural and anthropomorphic) which may be present on site for construction workers and end users. We have risk assessed against end users of private gardens, public open spaces and school playing fields. In addition we have completed specific qualitative assessments for anglers and swimmers.
We utilise the current CLEA 1.06 software and associated publications, to determine the potential risks and determine mitigation measures utilising BRE 465 Cover Systems for Land Remediation. Where complex, process based remediation will be required, Coopers can provide a brokering service whereby cost effective remediation processes may be tendered by third parties. We provide this service to ensure that our clients obtain an objective and economical solution which is not restricted to services within typical ‘one stop shops’. We can provide watching briefs on process based remediation projects to keep the programme on track and many aspects, including unforeseen conditions are addressed.
Coopers provide validation of inert cover systems, and will provide an independent reviewing and validation service for developers and provide certification for submission to Statutory Regulators.
